Yes. The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. The BACP the leading professional association for members of the counselling professions in the UK with more than 50,000 members. I am an Accredited Member (Registration no. 378819) and can be found on the BACP registry.
Initially, we organise a FREE 15-minute consultation, where you can ask me any questions about the counselling process and we can explore how counselling can help you. If you decide you want to start counselling with me and I feel my therapeutic approach can help, we pre-book a time and our day for your first session, where I carry out an in-depth assessment and discuss your goals for therapy. We agree on how many sessions you would like or need and discuss availability and affordability.
Therapy can be short or long-term, and we review regularly to check on the issues you are facing. During each of our sessions, I create a safe and empathetic space without judgement so that you can speak honestly and openly.
Sessions last for 50 minutes. At 10 minutes before the end of the session we begin to wind down, giving space to check in and see how you are feeling. We also discuss any homework or any practical arrangements for the following session.
Payment is made via bank transfer 24 hours in advance of your appointment. Concessions are available for those in financial hardship or counsellor trainees. Our first 15-minute introductory consultation online/telephone is free. Standard counselling sessions cost £70.00 for 50 minutes.
Yes, you can cancel a session. Please allow for 24 hours’ notice otherwise you will be charged 100% of the total session fee. If you decide to finish therapy, I ask that you book one final session. We give the space to discuss your reasons why and if required can offer further help or signpost you to other relevant services.
